About Anne

Anne Le Bozec is Professor of Vocal Accompaniment at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris and has rapidly established herself as one of the leading pianists and accompanists of her generation, playing with major artists in recital and chamber music throughout Europe, America and Asia.

After graduating from the CNSM de Paris, majoring in piano, vocal accompaniment and chamber music, she proceeded to Hartmut Höll’s renowned Lieder Diploma in Karlsruhe, and soon began the first class on French mélodie in a German Hochschule. Alongside bursaries from French, German and European Foundations, she won major prizes in international competitions for solo piano, Lied and chamber music; among them the Schubert und die Moderne Competition, Graz (Austria), the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition (France) and the Hugo Wolf Competition (Germany).

Her recordings of vocal and instrumental chamber music have included songs by Schubert, Mahler, Fauré, Britten, Wolf, Duparc, Chopin, Szymanowski, Brahms and Vaughan Williams, as well as the complete Beethoven and Fauré cello sonatas with the distinguished French cellist Alain Meunier, and Russian flute repertoire with long time duo partner Sandrine Tilly. Anne recorded a Shakespeare album with mezzo-soprano Isabelle Druet in 2016 (the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death), a tribute to Ronsard’s 500th year with baritone Marc Mauillon and a monograph on the Norwegian composer Agathe Backer-Grondhal with piano music and songs with soprano Karen Vourc’h; six of her albums feature pieces from and around the First World War. Her recording of Schubert’s Winterreise with French tenor Cyrille Dubois was released in December 2023 and was widely acclaimed in France, Germany and England (Gramophone’s Editor’s Choice), as were the 3 CDs featuring the complete Mörike Lieder by Hugo Wolf with Christian Immler released in 2025.

Anne Le Bozec teaches French song, German Lied, vocal accompaniment and chamber music in masterclasses all over the world. She is joint Artistic Director with Alain Meunier of the French chamber music festival ‘Fêtes Musicales de l’Aubrac’. She co-organized the Congress on the piano accompaniment profession, held in November 2024 at the Paris Conservatoire, including the first documentary ever filmed in France on this subject. She has been awarded the French national distinction Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres.
