About Chris
Having recently graduated the RNCM with MMus in Violin Performance, awarded with Distinction, Chris has worked with a wide range of UK orchestras and ensembles including the BBC Philharmonic, Sinfonia Viva, Manchester Concert Orchestra and London Concertante. A recent performance highlight includes giving the UK premiere of Yuanfan Yang’s Duo de Charme at the 60th Anniversary concert of Wakefield Concert Society, performing as a soloist alongside the Orchestra of Opera North.
As well as his violin class at JRNCM, Chris also teaches violin at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls (AGGS). His teaching philosophy centres on helping students perform at their best while developing a genuine and lasting love of music. He encourages students to explore the music that inspires them, to discover their own musical interests and bring passion and expression to every note. By nurturing each student’s individual musicality alongside their technical development, Chris aims to help young violinists grow in confidence, creativity and appreciation of a range of musical genres.
In May 2026, Chris was invited by RNCM Professors Steven Wilkie and Yuri Torchinsky to join them as a teaching assistant at Forum Musikae in Madrid, reflecting his continued involvement in conservatoire-level teaching and musical collaboration.
