About Katerina
Katerina Kaifa is a vocalist and vocal pedagogue, working as a Creative Multi-Specialist (Vocals) on the RNCM undergraduate programme and Senior Tutor (Vocals) for the RNCM Young Artists Programme.
She trained at the University of Salford, graduating with First-Class Honours in Popular Music & Recording, and then at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she completed an MMus in Popular Music & Vocal Pedagogy with Distinction. Her dissertation, “Adapting Classical Singing Techniques for CCM Singers,” reflects the central concern of her teaching: helping singers move fluently between classical and contemporary idioms without compromising vocal health or stylistic authenticity.
As a performer, Katerina is one of Manchester’s most versatile vocalists, working across jazz, pop and blues. She first came to national attention in Greece as winner of the televised song contest The Music School (MEGATV), and has since performed on Greek national television, Greek musical theatre productions and at festivals across the UK as a session singer with artists such as Tim Burgess and Helen O’Hara.
At the RNCM she helps Young Artists build robust vocal technique and musicianship, and guides undergraduates as creative multi-specialists equipped to write, perform and sustain a career on their own terms.
