Institutes
Launched in October 2026, the Institute for Music and Society will explore music’s role in communities, identities, education, wellbeing, and social change, strengthening inclusive and participatory research with public and sector partners. The new Institute for Artistic Research – to launch in the next 18 months – will connect practice-led research, performance, advanced technologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration to develop new forms of musical creation and creative exchange. Alongside our specialist research centres and collaborative hubs, the institutes will create welcoming environments for experimentation and knowledge exchange, positioning the RNCM as a destination for research, consultancy, advice, and advanced study.
Centres
Our research centres give the chance for essential collaboration with artists, conservatoires, and universities across the world.
