Permanent changes to Oxford Road
A number of permanent changes to Oxford Road are now in effect to allow for a bus, cycle and pedestrian priority zone between Hathersage Road and Portland Street. General traffic is prohibited from entering Oxford Road between the hours of 6am and 9pm every day of the week.
From Monday 4 September 2017, full camera enforcement will be in operation, and so to avoid the possibility of receiving a penalty charge notice, motorists who would normally use Oxford Road are advised to use alternative routes during the hours of operation. Capacity improvements have been made to Upper Brook Street to assist with any additional traffic.
There are several car parks close to the RNCM:
1. RNCM underground car park, located next to the College in the basement of the Sir Charles Groves Hall of Residence, off Rosamond Street West. Open from 5pm – 11.30pm on weekday evenings and from 6am – 11.30pm at the weekend, costing £3.50 (payable on foot at the machine).
Overnight car parking is not permitted and will be subject to a £50 fine.
Please note that the underground car-park entrance / exit is 2.1 metres high and 2.3 metres wide. Customers who own larger vehicles may wish to consider using alternative car parks in order to reduce the risk of damage to vehicles.
2. The University of Manchester Booth Street car park is situated off Booth Street West. Open 6am – midnight.
3. The Aquatics Centre car park is situated off Booth Street East. Open 6am – 11pm.
Please note that car parks 2 and 3 are not run by the RNCM.
