Competition Prize for RNCM Cellist
Third year cellist Jack Bailey has won Second Prize in the 2016 Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition.
Held in Townsville, Queensland last month, the five-day event attracts outstanding musicians from around the world who perform works from the concerto and opera repertoires with professional accompanists.
Founded in 1980 as an international piano competition, the ACVC developed in recent years to include vocal and instrumental categories. Jack, who studies with Hannah Roberts, was one of three musicians to compete in the final of the Open Instrumental section, winning the $2000 Dr Bill Williams OBE Memorial Prize.
