RNCM Engage Appeal raises over £61,000

Our most recent Engage Appeal has reached its target and will provide vital support for our Engage programmes, working to support music education for under-18’s.

The RNCM Engage Appeal is part of the RNCM50 fund, to which our Chair, Ravi Gupta, has provided an additional £25,000 of match funding, to celebrate our 50th anniversary. This generosity will allow us to support even more young people through music.

Professor Linda Merrick CBE, Principal said: ‘We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity that our community continues to show during our 50th anniversary year. The support you have given to our Engage programmes is invaluable to the development of young musicians at the earliest stages, and I would like to personally thank everyone who donated to this very important appeal.’

With the funds raised we are able to offer transformational initiatives including:

  • Bursary funding for young people to attend Junior RNCM, accessing intensive weekly classical music training.
  • Support for more local schools to take part in our Children’s Opera project, co-creating and performing an original opera on our Theatre stage.
  • Vital free travel to the young musicians, ensuring that neither location nor finances are barriers to engagement.
  • Funding for places on RNCM Young Artists, working in pop bands to create, record and distribute original music

Thank you to everyone who donated to our appeal this year and for supporting musical talent, growth, and aspiration in young people.

You can still support RNCM Engage programmes as part of our RNCM50 Fund here, and help us change more young lives through music.
