Solem Announced as Junior Fellows in Chamber Music
The RNCM is delighted to announce that the Solem Quartet has been awarded the position of Junior Fellows in Chamber Music for the 2015/16 academic year.
Comprising RNCM alumni Catherine Landen (violin), Alistair Vennart (viola) and Stephanie Tress (cello), and RCM graduate Amy Tress (violin), Solem are busy forging an exciting international career after winning the Ensemble A Section Finals of the 2014 Royal Over-Seas League.
Jeremy Young, Head of Chamber Music, said: ‘It’s wonderful to see that the RNCM is still nurturing and developing young chamber musicians to this exciting level. The chamber department looks forward to welcoming the Solem Quartet back to the College to help inspire and encourage our next generation of talented ensemble players.’
Solem said: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to be appointed Junior Fellows in Chamber Music at the RNCM. Having formed at the College and having benefited so much from the wealth of opportunities in the chamber music department, it is a real privilege to be able to pass on our knowledge and experience to the next generation of students.’
