RNCM and the BHF Keep Music Playing

Over the past few weeks, music has played a crucial role in uniting communities and shining a light in the darkest of times.

We understand now, more than ever, that the joy of music-making is crucial to maintaining positive health and wellbeing at a time when many are struggling with unexpected financial hardship and are feeling anxious and lonely due to isolation.

This is why we’ve joined forces with the British Heart Foundation, to raise awareness of the vital part live music plays in lifting the soul and building connections during times of crisis.

Every Monday at 1.15pm, we’re streaming live concerts on the RNCM Facebook page and we’d love you to join us. These short recitals are the perfect way to take a little time out of your day, to relax, unwind and enjoy a unique glimpse into what life in lockdown is like for our incredible staff and students.

As charitable organisations, both the RNCM and BHF have been overwhelmed by messages of solidarity and encouragement from our fantastic supporters, but we’re facing the unprecedented pressure of increased calls for our help.

Beating Heartbreak Together

Nothing is more important than the people you love, especially during these difficult times. The British Heart Foundation urgently need support to keep providing vital services to those most at risk from coronavirus, particularly those affected by heart and circulatory disease.

A record number of people are calling on our services, and without your support, we can’t be there in their time of need.

Every Musician Matters

The RNCM Student Hardship Fund provides a safety net for our musicians who, due to unexpected circumstances, find themselves in crisis, making it near impossible for them to complete their training.

The Fund offers a crucial lifeline for these aspirational young people with an acute level of need and nowhere else to turn. With the closure of live venues, theatres, cafes and restaurants, their vital streams of income are disappearing. More of our students than ever need your help to continue their training.

How you can help

If you enjoy listening to the Facebook Live recitals, you might like to show your support with a donation. 50% of the proceeds will go to the RNCM and 50% will go to the British Heart Foundation.

With your generous donations we can safeguard futures and save lives.

Thank you.
