Make an Application
The specialised training we offer means that securing a place at the RNCM is highly competitive, so it’s important that you understand the necessary entrance requirements and application process in advance.
In brief, all applicants must be over 18 years old by 31 December in the year of entry, demonstrate a high level of performing/composition ability at audition, and meet the minimum academic standards and English Language requirement for the course of choice. For guidance, undergraduate applicants are expected to be of at least Grade 8 standard in their Principal Study instrument, with at least Grade 5 knowledge of music theory.
The application process incorporates a number of stages, outlined in detail within this section.
2023 Entry
The deadline to submit an on-time application for September 2023 entry was 2 October 2022. We continue to accept late applications where spaces are available via UCAS Conservatoires, and applicants are still considered for scholarship. Full information on how to apply, audition and track the progress of your application is available here.

Every Tuesday and Friday during term time, our Admissions Team host informal one-to-one sessions to give applicants the chance to ask any questions about studying at the RNCM.
