Ina’s Scottish Highlight

Bulgarian pianist Ina Selvelieva, the RNCM’s Sir John Fisher Foundation Junior Fellow – Repetiteur, was recently invited to be music director and repetiteur for Scottish Opera’s Opera Highlights tour.

Starting today, Thursday 29 January, the annual tour runs for six weeks and includes performances at 17 venues throughout Scotland. Ina said: ‘This invitation means a lot to me because I get the chance to work with great singers and present a beautiful programme to Scottish audiences. The event is a celebration of the very best of opera over the last 300 years, and includes a new miniature opera, Touching Eden, written specifically for the tour by composer-in-residence Lliam Paterson.’

Kevin Thraves, Head of Music Staff (School of Vocal Studies and Opera) added: ‘This is an incredible achievement for Ina and she is fully deserving of this fantastic opportunity. It has been invaluable to have had such an exceptional Sir John Fisher Foundation Junior Fellow – Repetiteur working alongside the music staff in the School of Vocal Studies and Opera during this academic year. She has contributed hugely during her time so far in Manchester and we all wish her every success for her Opera Highlights tour with Scottish Opera.’
