RNCM Young Recorders
Workshops for recorder players aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.
What is RNCM Young Recorders?
RNCM Young Recorders is a series of free workshops on recorder playing. This is an exciting opportunity for young players of school age to develop creative, musical and technical skills through workshops held at the RNCM. Led by our experienced RNCM tutors, these workshops offer a chance to meet other players and receive expert tuition and advice on all aspects of playing.
What happens during the workshops?
Participants will work together in large and small groups, exploring music through movement, improvising with musical ideas and developing a group piece together throughout the session. As part of this, areas of technique will be explored within a musical context, and the young players will have plenty of opportunity to create their own musical choices and decisions. The sessions will be participatory so expect plenty of playing.
Who can take part?
Anyone aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.
RNCM Young Projects are completely free to attend, for all young players of school age (whether a beginner or more experienced) and there is no selection process – there will be something for everyone!
