Yuanfan Yang wins Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition.

Congratulations to postgraduate pianist Yuanfan Yang on winning the Ricard Viñes International Piano Competition.

Held at the Enric Granados Auditorium in Lleida, Spain, the competition is open to pianists aged 18 to 35 from all nationalities and offers a €35,000 prize pot, with the winner receiving €18,000.

Yuanfan, who recently completed his Postgraduate Diploma after graduating from our prestigious IAD programme, said: ‘I’m incredibly honoured and grateful. The last few days were so rich with music and great company. I met new friends and had great food. It was also a thrill to play with conductor Nestor Bayona’.

In addition to the prize money, Yuanfan secured two solo performances with the Vallès Symphony Orchestra and a solo recital at the 2026 Festival de Música de Morelia in México.
