With over 30 years of experience in the music industry and higher education, Damian Morgan brings a wealth of expertise in artist management, development, and strategic industry networking to the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). Known for delivering confident, diplomatic, and effective communication, Damian is highly regarded for his ability to guide emerging talent while fostering strong connections across the creative industries.

Throughout his career, Damian has worked with members of iconic artists, including The Smiths, New Order, The Specials, and Oasis, as well as contemporary acts such as The Orielles, Working Men’s Club, Julia Bardo, Ellen Beth Abdi, Hungry, and Georgian. His leadership roles at institutions including BIMM, dBs Institute, LIPA, and WaterBear have shaped innovative artist development strategies and opened new pathways for aspiring musicians entering the industry.

Appointed by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to the Greater Manchester Music Commission in 2021, Damian plays an influential role in shaping regional music policy, leading a specialist subgroup dedicated to supporting young talent. He also serves on the boards of Nordoff & Robbins (Northern Music Awards), Liverpool Sound City, and the GMCA Manchester/Japan Steering Group, and mentors emerging artists through international initiatives such as SXSW Austin and Factory Sounds (Aviva Studios).

As Artist Development Specialist at RNCM, Damian draws on decades of experience negotiating major label, publishing, and agency deals, delivering career mentoring, and curating impactful industry events. His mission is to empower the next generation of artists with the knowledge, resilience, and networks they need to thrive in today’s evolving music landscape.
