Romanian violinist Andra Vornicu is a versatile and in-demand performer, known for her expressive playing and stylistic versatility. Andra’s professional portfolio spans orchestral leadership, international touring, studio recording, and theatre work, placing her at the forefront of contemporary music-making.
Her commercial credits include tours and recordings with James, Lewis Capaldi, Paloma Faith, Sam Fender, Marisha Wallace, Tim Burgess, Chicane, DJ Spoony, as well as TV appearances on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, Later with Jools Holland and BBC Songs of Praise. In theatre, she has performed the prominent solo violin chairs in Standing at the Sky’s Edge (National Theatre/Crucible), The Book of Mormon, She Loves Me and Guys and Dolls. Comfortable on stage and in the studio, Andra brings stylistic flexibility, strong ensemble skills, and creative flair to every project.
Alongside her commercial and theatrical profile, Andra is a regular guest with Manchester Camerata, Opera North, has performed with Manchester Collective, and holds leadership positions with the Novello, NEW Sinfonia, Ignition, Urban Soul, Untold, and Northern Film Orchestras.
Beyond the stage, Andra is a dedicated educator, mentoring students through side-by-side projects, teaching privately, and delivering accessible, interactive performances in special education settings.
