Elena has been a member of the Hallé Orchestra since 2017, where she holds the position of second bassoon, with duty of first bassoon. Alongside her orchestral commitments with the Hallé, she maintains a vibrant freelance career across the UK and internationally.
As a Guest Principal Bassoon, she has performed with leading ensembles including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, and the Oxford Philharmonic. Her extensive experience as a Guest Second Bassoon includes collaborations with the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and BBC Symphony Orchestra amongst others, alongside international engagements with the Teatro Regio di Torino and the Royal Danish Theatre.
As a dedicated educator, Elena taught as Bassoon Tutor at Chetham’s School of Music from 2017 to 2024 and has delivered masterclasses at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Additionally, she served on the jury for the preliminary round of the 2026 IDRS (International Double Reed Society) competition.
Elena began her musical education in Italy at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato G. Donizetti in Bergamo under Giorgio Versiglia, graduating with first-class honours. She pursued advanced studies with Marco Postinghel at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole before earning her Master of Music with distinction from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim in Germany under Professor Ole Kristian Dahl.
