RNCM Day of Percussion returns for another inspiring day of rhythm and creativity.
Led by artistic director Simone Rebello, we’re throwing open our doors for percussionists of all ages and abilities to participate in a day packed with workshops, clinics, and concerts. Whether you’re a working professional, studying percussion, or picking up a drum for the first time in our discovery session, we have something for you.
Our internationally renowned artists will present a day filled with exciting and informative sessions. This year’s outstanding line-up includes composer and percussionist Emmanuel Séjourné, tabla maestro Sanju Sahai and, discussing his work on the soundtracks of Star Wars and Harry Potter, percussionist Paul Clarvis. Celebrating 30 years, BackBeat Percussion Quartet reunites to perform landmark works from the ensemble’s history.
To round off the day, we welcome winner of the 68th ARD Music Competition and International Visiting Tutor Kai Strobel to perform alongside RNCM’s rising percussion talent, in a concert that includes Steve Reich’s Quartet for 2 vibraphones and 2 pianos.
Learn about playing technique, gain industry insight, and hear some incredible performances from masters of their craft across a broad range of percussion styles.
In between sessions, visit our expansive trade exhibition throughout the day where you can try out instruments and pick up new accessories.
