Adrian Sutton: 1967 – 2025

The RNCM was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Adrian Sutton, a composer whose work has left an indelible mark on British theatre and concert music.

Best known for his evocative scores for War Horse and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Adrian’s work was rich with emotion, imagination, and storytelling power.

In a recent lunchtime concert by the RNCM Piano Ensemble, students Letizia Palmieri, Maddy Brown, Elio Gaviria, Liana Storey and Ben Attfield joined with guest artist Dawn Hardwick to perform Adrian’s Aerobatics Over Lake Wanaka. 

Adrian was due to the attend the concert and had kindly gifted the music to the College. A full tribute is available to read on The Telegraph website.
