Alexis Demailly
International Visiting Professor of Cornet
Alexis Demailly, a cornet and trumpet player, started playing at the age of 6 in the North of France. His great career is based on studies at the academies of music in Lille and Saint Omer and finally at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he actually teaches.
He was principal trumpet in the Pasdeloup Orchestra (the oldest symphony orchestra in France) and principal cornet in the Air Force Brass Band. In 2003 he won the position as principal cornet at the Paris Opera.
Moreover he joined the Paris Brass Band in 2009 as principal cornet.
Apart from his job as an orchestral musician, he performs as a soloist in France as well as abroad.
He also works on new pieces with several well-known composers as Joseph Vella, Peter Meechan, Peter Graham, Stan Nieuwenhuis or Fabien Cali. His recording are widely reputed around the world.
