Hannah is a Vocal and Original Ensemble tutor on the BMus and MMus Popular Music Department. Her diverse professional background includes vocal coaching, live and studio jazz and pop vocals, piano/keyboards, vocal arrangement, live music technology and production as well as orchestral composition and arrangement.
As a trained composer, Hannah graduated with a BMus in Contemporary Composition from the RNCM in 2003 and currently tutors 3rd, 4th and Mmus students popular vocals at the RNCM specialising in jazz, soul, pop, vocal technology and songwriting as well as teaching artistry, composition and arrangement on the course-wide Original EP module. She has fifteen years of HE lecturing and tutoring experience in popular voice, music theory, composition and arrangements, vocal production and music business at Bolton University, SSR and the RNCM.
Professionally, Hannah has been recording and performing vocally both in the UK and internationally for over 15 years with a diverse array of artists. These recently include The Brand New Heavies, Tony Christie, Nicole Scherzinger, The Gorillaz, BeCee, the Courteeners (coaching) and uk Hiphop act Homecut. Hannahs background in writing and production have also led to her writing works for and with artists such as The Brand New Heavies, Angie Stone, BCee and Lily Jo as well as classical groups such as The Goldberg ensemble and media pieces for Sky TV, British Midland Airlines and White Noise.
As an independent artist, Hannah has written, produced, released and toured her own original jazz soul work under the name ‘Taylor Jackson’ playing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Kendall Calling, and Monteflavio festival in Rome. More recently, she is working on a new jazz electronica project alongside composer and arranger Matt Steele in which she plays, keyboards, synths and live vocal tech to create multilayered soundscapes. Hannah was also a Director of MassiveLive a Northern Quarter based music agency and independent record label between 2003-2009.
