Jasper Wilkinson won the Young Jazz Composer competition at the Royal Northern College of Music at the tender age of 15. He has gone on to write television commercials for national brands such as Co-op Bank, Elephant.co.uk, Bank of Scotland, Marisota, Bennetts Insurance and Claims Direct, and has also composed for Channel 5, Granada, UKTV, Tyne Tees and BSkyB.
In addition to being an educator, Jasper is a writer and producer of a large number of released commercial recordings. Being a prolific guitar, bass and saxophone player, he was first call guitarist and bass player for PWL Manchester and has played bass saxophone and guitar on scores of commercial dance and other worldwide records. More recently he has completed a European tour for Fredo Viola and played drums and percussion on Taratata and Prix Consantin, the French Mercury Awards.
