As a freelance session musician, Johnny has performed with a varied list of artists such as Tito Jackson, Mica Paris, Hamish Stuart, Donny Osmond, Errol Brown, Gary Barlow, Heather Small, Fred Wesley, folk duo While/Matthews, plus U.S. soul legends Kim Weston, Pat Lewis, Brenda Holloway, Eddie Holman, The Velvelettes and The Flirtations.
Johnny is also a long term member of BBC Jazz award winning jazz/funk instrumental group ‘BadBone & Co.’, led by trombonist Dennis Rollins M.B.E. During his tenure, the band has toured worldwide, performing at iconic festivals such as WOMAD, Montreux Jazz Festival, and the Jazz/World and Pyramid stages at Glastonbury.
