Marc Guejon is Principal trumpet of the Opéra National de Paris orchestra and professor at the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris).
He graduated from the conservatories of Arras, Rueil-Malmaison and the CNSMDP, and was successively appointed Principal trumpet of the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine, Mulhouse, Picardie and the Paris chamber orchestra, before joing the orchestra of the Opéra National de Prais. He has also performed as guest principal trumpet with many French and foreign orchestras, and has played under the direction of the greatest conductors, including Herbert Blomstedt, Semyon Bychkov, Myung-whun Chung, Gustavo Dudamel, Armin Jordan, Philippe Jordan, Kurt Masur, Georges Prêtre, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Valery Gergiev. Alongside his career as an orchestral musician, he also appears regularly as a soloist.
Marc studied with Éric Aubier, who then invited him to share the stage during concerts as a soloist, notably in 1997 during a tour with Maurice André and the chamber orchestra Paul Kuentz. With orchestra, in recital with piano, organ or chamber music, he frequently performs in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Marc’s solo repertoire extends from the Baroque period to the music of the 21st century. A chamber musician, he is a member of the Brass Quintet of the Paris Opera. Appointed professor at the Paris Conservatory, after having taught at Rueil-Malmaison and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, he is committed to perpetuating the great tradition of the French school of trumpet initiated by his illustrious predecessors whilst developing international exchanges. with artists and educators from around the world.
Passionate about organology and the development of instrument design, Marc has worked for many years with Schilke, a famous instrument maker in Chicago (USA).
