My first degree is in Geography which I studied at UCL and, whilst I had a brilliant time, I left without any clarity about a career but since I loved London I stayed there and found myself employed in the Financial Services sector for a few years. After returning (briefly) to my native Manchester I then had a wonderful year travelling and working in Australia before embarking on an MSc course in Information Technology in Bristol – I finally settled back in Manchester, worked in IT, married, had children and then started my counselling training.
I qualified as a Counsellor in 2013 and have worked in secondary schools as well as at the University of Salford. I’m now combining a part-time role at RNCM with developing a private practice as a Clinical Supervisor and Counsellor. I own a saxophone but have never learned to play it – I’m hoping that this will change soon.
