Name: Benjamin Wallfisch

Role: Composer, Conductor and RNCM Fellow

About: Benjamin is an Ivor Novello and Grammy-nominated composer and conductor. He is recognised as one of the leading film composers of his generation, and has released over 20 acclaimed albums of his music. He is a member of BAFTA, an  Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, and in 2017 was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He has been Associate Composer of the Orchestra of St John’s, and a former Associate Conductor of the English Chamber Orchestra. Benjamin has over 50 concert commissions and over 100 live performances to his name. He has worked on over 75 feature films and received Golden Globe, BAFTA, GRAMMY and EMMY nominations for his work. In December, it was our pleasure to award Benjamin with Fellowship of the RNCM.

Did you know? Benjamin orchestrated the Oscar winning score for Atonement, and the Oscar nominated score for Pride and Prejudice. In 2019 Variety inducted him into their ‘Billion Dollar Composer’ series.
