‘I would like to nominate Alison Godlee (née Haworth), a long-time supporter, former staff member and champion of the RNCM. Alison graduated from the Royal Manchester College of Music in 1953, was a member of staff at the RNCM for over 20 years and was awarded Honorary Membership in 2019. Between 1988 and 2007 she worked with Ralph Kirshbaum as administrator for the prestigious RNCM International Cello Festival, during which time she also worked on the Glories of the Keyboard Festival with Renna Kellaway and the Chamber Music Festival with Chris Rowland.

Alison’s husband Richard Godlee was also an RMCM graduate and RNCM Honorary Member. As an RMCM Council member, he was involved in shaping the vision of what became the RNCM in 1973, subsequently joining the RNCM Council.’ Sarah Peach
