Born in 1998 in France, Virgile Roche is one of the most versatile pianists of today’s young European scene. Admitted at the age of seventeen to the Paris Conservatory, he won First Prize in eight categories, including Piano (with Marie-Josèphe Jude and Jonas Vitaud), Chamber Music, Collaborative Piano, Lied, Harmony, Counterpoint, Music of the XXth-XXIst Centuries, and Orchestration at the institute. He later enrolled in their selective post-graduate programme in 2024. From 2022 to 2025, he was also an Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Belgium, in the classes of Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian. Virgile has participated in masterclasses with pianists such as Nelson Goerner, Bertrand Chamayou and Michel Béroff, and chamber musicians such as Hatto Beyerle, Patrick Jüdt and Johannes Meissl. He has been awarded numerous major prizes and awards on three continents and performs regularly at esteemed festivals and venues in Europe and abroad.
Virgile has just recorded his first CDs devoted to Rachmaninov and Pejačević’s Cello Sonatas and Fauré’s Piano Quartets. In November 2026, he will make his debut in Bartók’s Third Piano Concerto with the Paris Conservatory Orchestra.
