RNCM Young Trombones
Young Trombones is an open access event for all young trombone players of school age.
RNCM Young Trombones is a free workshop on trombone playing led by RNCM recorder tutor Philip Goodwin. It is a chance to meet other trombone players and receive expert tuition and advice on all aspects of trombone playing in a relaxed atmosphere. The session will be participatory so expect plenty of playing.
Each workshop is held on a Sunday morning from 10am – 1pm.
Anyone who is of school age can take part. All standards are catered for, from beginner to post grade 8. The aim is to be inclusive so whether you have been playing for weeks or years you will be able to join in.
Participants will work together in large and small groups, exploring music through movement, improvising with musical ideas and developing a group piece together throughout the session. As part of this, areas of technique will be explored within a musical context, and the young players will have plenty of opportunity to create their own musical choices and decisions.
Upcoming Workshops:
Sunday 22 September
Sunday 24 November
Sunday 26 January
Sunday 4 May
