RNCM Young Bassoons

Workshops for bassoon players aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.

Young projects students play bassoons.

What is RNCM Young Bassoons?

RNCM Young Bassoons is a series of free workshops on bassoon playing. This is an exciting opportunity for young players of school age to develop creative, musical and technical skills through workshops held at the RNCM. Led by our experienced RNCM tutors, these workshops offer a chance to meet other players and receive expert tuition and advice on all aspects of playing.

What happens during the workshops?

There will be lots of technical tips to help you play better, so you can enjoy your playing even more. The workshops will focus on developing your bassoon playing and musicianship through ensembles and creative activities. There will also be plenty of opportunities to listen to and talk about the bassoon. Some workshops will run alongside RNCM Young Oboes, giving the opportunity to explore the exciting double reed ensemble repertoire. The sessions will be participatory so expect plenty of playing.

Who can take part?

Anyone aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.

RNCM Young Projects are completely free to attend, for all young players of school age (whether a beginner or more experienced) and there is no selection process – there will be something for everyone!
