RNCM Young Horns

Workshops for horn players aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.

Young projects students playing horns.

What is RNCM Young Horns?

RNCM Young Horns is a series of free workshops on horn playing. This is an exciting opportunity for young players of school age to develop creative, musical and technical skills through workshops held at the RNCM. Led by our experienced RNCM tutors, these workshops offer a chance to meet other players and receive expert tuition and advice on all aspects of playing.

What happens during the workshops?

Each workshop is different, looking at specific aspects of technique, but there is always an opportunity to play as part of a large horn ensemble, often playing film music. Time is spent working together with players of a similar standard in breakout groups. The sessions will be participatory so expect plenty of playing.

Who can take part?

Anyone aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.

RNCM Young Projects are completely free to attend, for all young players of school age (whether a beginner or more experienced) and there is no selection process – there will be something for everyone!
