RNCM Young Oboes
Workshops for oboe players aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.
What is RNCM Young Oboes?
RNCM Young Oboes is a series of free workshops on oboe playing. This is an exciting opportunity for young players of school age to develop creative, musical and technical skills through workshops held at the RNCM. Led by our experienced RNCM tutors, these workshops offer a chance to meet other players and receive expert tuition and advice on all aspects of playing.
What happens during the workshop?
During the workshops you will be doing lots of oboe playing, developing your technique and musicianship and exploring all things oboe! Sessions vary but will often include ensemble playing, Dalcroze Eurhythmic, masterclasses on solo performance and learning about reeds. Some workshops will run alongside RNCM Young Bassoons, giving the opportunity to explore the exciting double reed ensemble repertoire. The sessions will be participatory so expect plenty of playing.
Who can take part?
Anyone aged 8 – 18 with at least one year of playing experience.
RNCM Young Projects are completely free to attend, for all young players of school age (whether a beginner or more experienced) and there is no selection process – there will be something for everyone!
