Born in 2003, Francesco Maria Navelli began piano studies at an early age. At 13, he was admitted to the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, where he studied under Leonid Margarius, later continuing with Benedetto Lupo at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. The winner of several international competitions, Navelli gained recognition at the 29th “Città di Cantù” Piano and Orchestra Competition at 16, and in 2025 won the Vigo Piano Competition. He was awarded scholarships by the Rotary Club and the Accademia Chigiana, chosen by Lilya Zilberstein. Navelli has performed widely in Italy and abroad: Teatro San Carlo (Naples), Teatro Olimpico (Vicenza), Teatro dei Rozzi (Siena), Steinway Hall (Florida), the Estonian Academy in Tallinn, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo. As soloist, he appeared with the Georgian State Orchestra in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 3 and performed Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in Florida. Passionate about chamber music, he has performed with Eleonora Testa (cello) and collaborated with Sonig Tchakerian, Oleksandr Semchuck, and recently Rossana Rossignoli, principal clarinet of the Sinfonieorchester Basel.
