Leonhard Krahforst

Polish pianist Leonhard Krahforst began his piano education in Wroclaw, where he remained until the end of school. He studied in the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Cologne with Sheila Arnold and is currently studying with Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń and Paweł Wakarecy in the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. During his school years he was a laureate of international and national piano competitions, including winning the Second Prize of the XXII International Johann Sebastian Bach Piano Competition in Poland.

He took part in masterclasses with pianists such as Kevin Kenner, Tobias Koch, Nikolai Demidenko, Tamás Ungár, Alberto Nosé, Janusz Olejniczak, Rafał Blechacz, Andrzej Jasiński, Alexey Orlovetsky, amongst others. He has given solo recitals in Poland, Germany and Belgium including repertoire of Scarlatti, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, Scriabin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Kapustin. In January 2025, he gave a solo recital in the Chopin Museum in Warsaw and in the summer of the same yearqualified for a masterclass with Konstantin Scherbakov where he played Chopin’s Piano Concerto with the Jena Symponieorchester.
