Miki Matsumura

Born in Tokyo on December 3, 1996, Miki Matsumura began her piano studies at age four. She earned her Master’s degree in Piano from the Toho Gakuen Graduate School of Music (2021) and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Piano Chamber Music at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg under Jacques Rouvier. Her principal teachers include Katsurako Mikami, Shigeo Neriki, and Akiko Ebi. Miki has won multiple prizes, including Fourth Prize at the 6th Ishikawa International Piano Competition (2022) and was a Finalist at the International Chamber Music Competition LFN (2024).

She has appeared widely as a soloist in Japan and Europe, performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No 3 with the Toho Gakuen University Chamber Orchestra, and in 2025, Bach’s Piano Concerto BWV1056 F minor with the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim at the International Klavierfestival Junger Meister. She also participated in the same festival in 2023 as a soloist and performed at the International Holland Music Sessions (2023) and the Académie Internationale d’Été de Nice. Miki has experience as a repetiteur and piano teacher and was awarded a scholarship from the Meiji Yasuda Cultural Foundation.
