The RNCM Chamber Music Department is looking to recruit an established and successful chamber ensemble or chamber musician(s) for the role of Junior Fellow in Chamber Music for the Academic Year 2026/2027.
The RNCM Junior Fellowship in Chamber Music enables holders to gain experience, confidence and connections that will help to establish a professional profile as well as developing musical understanding and artistic individuality. Applicants should have wide experience as professional chamber players, a commitment to education and a willingness to work with young ensembles on a regular basis at the RNCM. The successful appointee(s) will contribute as performers as both an ensemble/individual and alongside students; in the RNCM’s busy programme of performances they will act as ambassadors of the College, and they will become an active part of the RNCM’s world-renowned Chamber Music department.
Applications are invited from existing string quartets, string trios, piano quartets, piano trios, and individual string or piano ensemble players that are:

- Developing a profile as established chamber musicians.
- Able to demonstrate potential and a commitment to the continuity and success of their careers.
- Prepared to act as ambassadors for the Royal Northern College of Music.
- Able to provide a portfolio of publicity material and/or commercially available recorded material.
- Motivated to develop their full potential as ensemble players through the opportunities provided by this fellowship.
Previous Junior Fellows have included the Sitkovetsky Piano Trio, Heath Quartet, Trio Gaspard, Notos Piano Quartet and Paddington Piano Trio.
This is a fixed-term role from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
