RNCM appoints two new professors to School of Wind, Brass and Percussion

The RNCM is delighted to announce the appointment of alumna Amy Yule as Professor of Flute and Marc Geujon from Opéra National de Paris as International Visiting Professor of Trumpet. Both will join the School of Wind, Brass and Percussion in September.

Amy, who graduated from the RNCM in 2015 before completing her Masters at the Royal Academy of Music in 2017, has held principal flute roles with Manchester’s Hallé orchestra and the Royal Northern Sinfonia in Gateshead. She has also appeared as guest principal flute with several renowned orchestras, including the Philharmonia, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Commenting on her appointment, Kevin Gowland, Director of Woodwind, said: ‘I am absolutely delighted that Amy Yule will be joining the team of flute professors from September and I look forward to working very closely with her. Amy is an exceptional flute player and will offer many moments of inspiration to our students.’

In addition to his new visiting professor role at the RNCM, Marc is principal trumpet with the Opéra National de Paris and professor at the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris). He graduated from the conservatories of Arras, Rueil-Malmaison, and the CNSMDP, and alongside his career as an orchestral musician, he appears regularly as a soloist and works with famous instrument maker Schilke on design development.

Murray Greig, Director of Brass, said he is ‘delighted’ Marc accepted the School’s invitation:‘I am excited to see him working with our students. His pedagogy is rooted in the great tradition of the French Trumpet School, but like so many of our IVTs, is complimented by his globally holistic approach.’
