RNCM to host symposium for leaders in popular music

On Monday 17 February the RNCM is hosting a symposium for Leaders in Popular Music.

Forming part of the 2023 Association of Popular Music Education (APME) Conference, the event will provide an opportunity for sector leaders to reconnect to explore synergies, challenges, and opportunities, and to investigate ways to collaboratively promote popular music education worldwide.

US colleagues Bryan Powell (APME Executive Director) and Steve Holley (APME Vice President) will join Andy Stott (RNCM Head of Popular Music), guests and students for discussions on topics such as ‘what are the challenges and opportunities in popular music education in the 21st century?’.

In 2015 the RNCM became the first UK conservatoire to launch a four-year BMus degree in Popular Music and is now recognised as the premier training ground for students aspiring to be original artists, freelance musicians, and music industry professionals. To learn more click here.
