Established by the Sheepdrove Trust and forming part of the Newbury Spring Festival, the competition is open to piano students aged 26 and under from the UK’s eight major conservatoires. The final featured 16 students with IAD pianist Iyad Sughayer securing second place (£1000) and second year Master of Performance student Anna Denisova taking third (£500).

Iyad is supported by the Stanley Picker Trust and Anna is a Leverhulme Arts Scholar.
