Tutor in French Horn , Hand Horn and Baroque Horn.
Chamber Music Coach
Professional Skills Lecturer/Examiner
Beccy won a scholarship to RNCM to study with Mike Purton where she won concerti and prizes and graduated with a First and a performance distinction. She was immediately offered positions with Scottish Opera, Northern Chamber Orchestra and Manchester Camerata, and accepted the latter two. This allowed her a combination of touring and recording with period orchestras such as the Hanover Band, King’s Consort, English Baroque Soloists and chamber music in the North West.
The challenges and variety of a freelance career have led her from guest principal with Scottish Chamber Orchestra, to appearances with the region’s symphony orchestras, to positions with Ludas Baroque and the English Haydn Orchestra. Most exciting has been membership of Manchester’s own acclaimed contemporary ensemble Psappha, a highlight being a live Radio 3 recording of the virtuosic Ligeti Trio. As well as teaching Baroque, Classical and modern horn at RNCM since 1991, she gives workshops in performance confidence and professional etiquette and works with the management of the Northern Chamber Orchestra.
Beccy is now registered with BAPAM as Homeopath and Confidence Coach.
