Before this she worked as Assistant Librarian with the Hallé Orchestra, taught Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone in various Schools, helped to run a local amateur Orchestra and served as a Lance Corporal in the Band of the Yorkshire Regiment as principal flute/piccolo, a position that she kept until 2018.  Charlotte holds a BMus(Hons) and Mmus in Performance Studies from the University of Huddersfield, where she studied Flute with Alan Lockwood.  She still plays regularly with a variety of amateur orchestras around Greater Manchester.
