My main role is to provide generalist professional HR support in the delivery of a wide-ranging professional HR service. I contribute towards the delivery of specific areas of HR activity, which in turn contributes towards the delivery of the College’s Strategic Plan.

Some of my key responsibilities are:

• Act as a main point of contact for HR related queries, responding accurately and in a timely manner to enquiries and refer to other team members as necessary.
• Coordinate and administer the College’s centralised staff development process.
• Advise managers and staff on training and development opportunities, source formal training, liaising with external organisations/individuals and trainers. Ensure necessary arrangements are made, liaising with various parties to ensure the smooth running of training events
• Provide guidance to line managers and support the College’s Performance and Development Review (PDR) process.
• Deliver HR inductions for new starters, administer and advise line managers on the probationary process, ensuring effective record keeping is maintained.
• Provide advice and guidance to line managers on recruitment campaigns, including current procedures, best practice and on the requirements of recruiting non-UK nationals in line with UKVI regulations.
• Undertake workload associated with the onboarding on new employees, preparing and issuing offer letters and contracts of employment, liaising with line managers to agree start dates and salary levels, ensuring all associated documentation is prepared and issued.
• Administration of actions associated with the employee life cycle, accurately maintaining and processing data in the HR/Payroll system.
• Manage HR DBS records, contacting staff when rechecks are required.
• Contribute towards the development, revision, and introduction of both current and new HR policies.
• To undertake role analysis as part of the College’s Job Evaluation Scheme (HERA), providing advice to line managers and feedback to staff.
• Provide generalist advice, guidance and any administrative support to managers and staff on a variety of HR issues, ensuring consistency of approach.
• Take an active part in various College Committees.
• Work with the Deputy Head of HR in supporting the College’s Staff Wellbeing strategy.
