About
Part of RNCM Saxophone Day
Jazz finds its past, its future, and everything in between in Branford Marsalis. From his early acclaim as a young jazz lion, Marsalis has continually expanded his reach as an instrumentalist, composer, bandleader, and educator, crossing stylistic boundaries while maintaining unwavering creative integrity.
And from the beginning, he seemed destined for artistic greatness. A three-time GRAMMY Award winner, he also holds Tony and Emmy nominations for his acclaimed work as a composer.
In a rare Manchester appearance, he’s joined by Julian Joseph, one of the UK’s most celebrated jazz pianists. These two friends and musicians come together on one stage. Their music inspires curiosity and courage and is rooted in a profound commitment to the next generation.
This is jazz at its most electrifying: spontaneous, virtuosic, and fuelled by fearless expression.
