An uplifting evening with bestselling economist, political thinker, and former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis as he shares insights from his powerful new memoir, Raise Your Soul: A Personal History of Resistance. Blending intimate family stories with the sweeping history of twentieth-century Greece, Yanis traces the lives of the remarkable women who shaped him – his mother Eleni, grandmothers Anna and Trisevgeni, and his partner Danae – against a backdrop of Nazi occupation, communist resistance, civil war, dictatorship, and economic collapse. With clarity and passion, he explores how the forces of history shape our lives and how we endure.
This is an opportunity to hear one of Europe’s most influential and provocative voices reflect on family and his political awakening.
Yanis Varoufakis is an economist, political leader and the author of several bestselling books, including Talking to My Daughter, Technofeudalism, Adults in the Room and Another Now.
