Statement of Adoption of Independent Review of University Spin-Out Companies

The Royal Northern College of Music has substantially adopted the recommendations outlined in the Independent Review of University Spin Outs (November 2023). This review presents an opportunity for our institution and sector to strengthen our expertise and outputs in terms of research commercialisation, and develop our generation of, and processes around, IP. We are reviewing our KE Policy and we are working with our Conservatoires UK colleagues and other universities within our Greater Manchester Civic Universities group to share and grow our systems around supporting the creation of commercial enterprises, for both staff and students, alongside support for social enterprises and other entrepreneurial activities. The RNCM was named Times Higher Education Outstanding Entrepreneurial University 2023, and we look forward to building on this expertise in our work in developing Spin Out activity.
