Auditions for International Applicants

International applicants can choose to audition by:

  • Attending a live audition at the RNCM, Manchester
  • Attending a live audition overseas (selected locations)
  • Submitting an audition recording

Live Auditions at the RNCM

All applicants will be invited to attend a live audition at the RNCM, Manchester in November/December, or for late applications, during March/April. If you have applied through UCAS Conservatoires, we will allocate the audition time/date through ‘Track’. You will NOT receive a separate audition invitation letter, so please ensure that you check via ‘Track’ on a regular basis.

A non-refundable audition fee must be made via UCAS Conservatoires before an audition can be arranged.

Live Auditions Overseas

Overseas auditions are also held, throughout the year, in select locations. Please see Overseas Auditions for further information including locations, dates and booking. All overseas audition interviews will be in English.

Audition Recordings

International applicants who are unable to attend a live audition are able to audition by uploading a recording to Acceptd. Your recording must include a five-minute spoken introduction by the applicant in English.

Candidates who would like to be considered for an entrance scholarship should ensure their recordings arrive at the RNCM by 15 November.

Audition recordings should follow the Audition Requirements outlined for each course/school.

View Auditioning by Recording – Frequently Asked Questions.

Applicants who receive an offer following an audition by recording may be required to sit a confirmatory audition and/or music theory examination on arrival at the RNCM in September.
