Deputy Head of Composition
Salary Grade: £57,422 to £62,728 per annum (£45,937.60 to £50,182.40 pro-rata salary)

The RNCM is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Composition. The appointee will be a composer with extensive professional experience and a passion for developing the composition offer at a world leading conservatoire with a focus on creativity and innovation.
While an essential area of experience will be acoustic instrumental and vocal composition, additional and complementary areas of expertise might include composition for theatre, dance, screen, video game, and/or experimental popular music.
The appointee will have appropriate teaching experience in higher education, or other specialist composition teaching experience. The role involves teaching individual and group composition across the undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.
The appointee will be expected to support the Head of Composition in the day-to-day running of the School of Composition and contribute to its strategic direction. This will include (but is not limited to): student recruitment; examination and assessment; curriculum/module design and coordination; rehearsal and seminar supervision; developing student performance and workshop opportunities.
