RNCM Lecture Theatre

Julia Perry

We’re thrilled to celebrate the work of American composer Julia Perry. Part of our In Focus series, we’ll be delving into her remarkable life and catalogue of music across a week of performances and talks.

Professor of Singing and RNCM Researcher Michael Harper launches our week of festivities with an introduction to his recent research on Julia Perry through the Arts and Humanities Research Grant and his work with the BBC to perform and record her music.

He will be joined by scholars Professor Louise Toppin (University of Michigan), Dr Samantha Ege (Southampton University), Dr Nate Holder (International Chair in Music Education, RNCM), and Professor Jennie Henley (Director of Programmes, RNCM) who will discuss and present Julia Perry’s life and music with a Q&A at the end of the session. You can join us in person or watch the session livestreamed from the RNCM YouTube channel.

Free admission, no ticket required.

This event will end at approximately 8.30pm.
