Saturday 13 January 2024, 5.30pm
RNCM Concert Hall
RNCM Strings Day celebrates the sheer versatility, beauty, and brilliance of string playing across a range of concerts and programmes. Our students, staff, and guest artists perform side-by-side, captivating listeners with their expressive playing and embodying learning at its highest level. View the full line-up.
Our first-year string students bring their a-game in a gripping programme that spans from Mozart to Freddie Mercury.
Staying true to the entertaining nature of a divertimento, they begin with Mozart’s amusing and playful version in D major – a work he wrote when he just sixteen years old.
They continue to journey through an eclectic programme before reaching their final destination a few centuries later. Turning up the dial, our students bring to life a spectacular rendition of everyone’s favourite car karaoke track, Bohemian Rhapsody, in an electrifying end to this first-year showcase.
