We’re thrilled to celebrate the work of American composer Julia Perry. As part of our In Focus series, we’ll be delving into her remarkable life and catalogue of music across a week of performances and talks.

This lunchtime concert sees the RNCM Percussion Ensemble perform an eclectic and exhilarating programme including Perry’s Homunculus CF. CF means Chord of the Fifteenth and was created from a succession of superimposed thirds. In Julia’s words, ‘Having selected percussion instruments for my formulae, then manoeuvring and distilling them by means of the Chord of the Fifteenth (C.F.), this musical test tube baby was brought to life.’
