What’s the most interesting/unique thing you’ve been involved with since being at RNCM?

We had the pleasure of having a master class from a famous jazz pianist, Jason Rebello as well as the drummer Robert Searight from Snarky Puppy who are both extremely talented and inspiring. Being a pianist myself, it was great to have the opportunity to receive advice and performing techniques from such a well known pianist.

What kinds of opportunities are there for students?

There are many opportunities for students on the Popular music course, such as auditioning for the prestigious Session Orchestra, and a recent trip to China with a band from RNCM. I have been fortunate to play with students from the classical course too, either for concerts or accompanying them.

What’s your favourite thing about being a student at RNCM?

My favourite thing about being a student at the RNCM is immersing myself in such a music environment on a day to day basis. The best part of my week is when we go down to blue print studios to have ensemble rehearsals, I love playing with a band as you are able to throw ideas back and forth to each other and also arrange music.

What are your future aspirations?

I would love to either be a member of a successful band, travelling the world on tour or play in the pit of an orchestra in the West end.
